Your individual contributions are very important to the Calgary Performing Arts Festival and our ability to host a successful event. Donations support the operations of the Festival – from venue costs to hiring adjudicators, every donation makes a difference. Donations can also be made to support our scholarship program. Almost $40,000 was awarded in scholarships in 2017!
How can I donate?
Birdies for Kids (BFK) is a non-profit program run under the Calgary Shaw Charity Classic Foundation. The Shaw Charity Classic aims to not only provide Calgary with a world-class professional sporting event accessible to families, but also to bring much-needed dollars to local charities.
How does it work?
Donors can make a donation to the Calgary Performing Arts Festival through Birdies for Kids between February 1 and September 3, 2017 by credit card, cash or cheque, to the Shaw Charity Classic Foundation. All donations to the Calgary Performing Arts Festival are matched up to 50%! The Calgary Performing Arts Festival will receive 100% of all donations made to us through the Birdies for Kids program.
The most exciting part of the program comes together from various corporate supporters with AltaLink being the Founding Partner. For every dollar raised by the Calgary Performing Arts Festival , up to 50% will be matched. This means that if you give a one-time flat donation of $50, up to an additional $25 will be given to the Calgary Performing Arts Festival .
You can choose to pay by cash, cheque, or credit card. All donations over $5,000 must be paid by cheque. All cheques must be made out to the ‘Calgary Shaw Charity Classic Foundation, Memo: Calgary Performing Arts Festival .’ Do not pay the Calgary Performing Arts Festival directly as your donation will be matched through the Birdies for Kids program.
From February 1 to September 3, 2017, we are asking all donations to go through the Birdies for Kids program (see above). Please use the link to donate. Thank you so much.
The Festival’s executive director will be pleased to discuss sponsorship with you.
