*Your participation in CPAF provides you with the opportunity to move to one of these festivals (by adjudicator recommendation) based on your Calgary Performing Arts Festival Performance. Certain rules apply.
Provincial Music Festival
As an affiliated member of the Alberta Music Festival Association, the Calgary Performing Arts Festival provides performers with the opportunity to advance to the Alberta Provincial Music Festival, representing Calgary on the provincial stage.
AMFA serves as the next step for outstanding performers selected by their adjudicators at the local level. Through this affiliation, CPAF participants are eligible for recommendation to the Alberta Provincial Festival, where they will perform among Alberta’s finest young artists and continue their journey toward national recognition.
Canada West Performing Arts Festival
Winners from the Alberta Provincial Music Festival are invited to represent Alberta at the Canada West Performing Arts Festival, the premier regional competition celebrating Western Canada’s most accomplished young performers.
This prestigious festival brings together top artists from across the western provinces, offering an inspiring opportunity for collaboration, growth, and excellence on a larger stage.
LOCAL STREAM QUALIFYING ROUND
Affiliation through this Local Stream membership level provides an opportunity for currently ineligible students to participate in our new Local Stream Qualifying Round for the FCMF National Music Festival!
This virtual competition is hosted by FCMF. Students, if recommended by their local festival adjudicator, are eligible for participation to seek recommendation to the FCMF National Music Festival.
This membership category and Qualifying Round ensures that Canada’s young amateur musicians, from coast to coast to coast, are able to compete on a national stage.
